The electric cigarette is simply the most innovative new product to hit the nicotine and (so-called) smoking market in a long, long time. In fact, it may just be the most brilliant idea in this sector since the invention of cigarettes themselves many years ago. Only time will really tell if this electronic device catches on becomes a super successful replacement to traditional cigarettes.

The electric cigarette is a smokeless, tobacco-free electronic device which purports to be able to simulate many of the real effects of smoking. The only thing that is really inhaled is a nicotine vapor. This is good because it may be able to satisfy the nicotine cravings of someone who is trying to cut back or quit altogether on their smoking habit. Nicotine does not cause cancer contrary to many people’s beliefs. The cancer-causing agents in traditional cigarettes are contained in many of the other chemicals laced into the tobacco. However, the vapor in an electric cigarette may cause irritation in the respiratory system. Of course that is not good, but it is a lot better minus all the other chemicals which addicts usually inhale. It has also sometimes been reported to cause a bad aftertaste and/or sore throat. This seems to vary in different users of the product.

Electric cigarettes are usually purchased in a pack. This may include a battery charger, rechargeable batteries, cartridge packs, and the actual electric cigarette itself. The batteries must (naturally) be recharged at night. And the cartridges must be replaced as the user goes through them, wearing them out. The cartridges would be the only recurring expense over time if one were to keep using the device on a regular and prolonged basis.

Another obvious benefit of using an electric cigarette as aid to curtail real smoking is that the user will be mimicking the motions that he or she is already used to. Most smokers know that there is a real addictive property just to the hand motions and oral ritual of this habit.

While some people definitely have found the electric cigarette to be the answer to their smoking woes, others have reported that without the real smoke, tobacco, carbon monoxide, tar, etc. it just doesn’t do the trick like their cancer sticks did for them. The only way to find out for oneself is to try it out. What’s the worst that can happen? £80 gets blown in a noble attempt to kick the demon stogies?

Read my Green Smoke Review to find the finest quality electric cigarette on the market.
